Hey guys I have screaming eagle 2 slip ons on my 2011 dyna... Should I rip out the baffles?? I just wanna have it sound good until I do my stage 1 setup??? Thanks for ur help guys..
My SE pipes had the baffles punched when I bought it. I rode it a year like that, then switched them out for the stock pipes. It was WAY too loud to be comfortable. Loud in the city & droning on the highway.
You may like it though. Personally, I'd leave them as-is.
yanking out the baffles has never caused a problem in any of my bikes but like i've said before, i've never had fuel injected. i think the tuning might be ur only problem. as far as back pressure ur never gonna find a real answer. it's one of those topics that could hold an argument for days.
Don't do it. Louder does not always mean better performance and can actually hurt your air flow through the pipes. A lot. Read up on exhaust pulses and scavenging.
Too much airflow through the engine without adjusting the fuel/air mixture will result in a lean condition and that will destroy your engine, starting with the valve faces and heading out from there.
And depending on where you live, and your neighbor's definition of "obnoxious", you could get hassled by the po-lice.
personally i would wait till you can cough up for a full system or better slip ons, if you really must have louder, look at some alternative baffles that will modify the sound note but still keep back pressure, BCT monsters or the QQ baffles, V&H also have baffles t hat would make it a bit louder for you
