Default Advice needed: high pitched whine from engine.

I seem to hear some sort of high pitched whine from the engine. At a given moment today was quite loud, then it went almost away. Almost. Now is barely audible.
What the ****???
The bike is a '07 FXDC.
The chain tensioner comes to mind. Oil pump?
The bike is running flawlessly up to now...
I'm quite worried.

Sure it wasn't your passenger screaming ?

Seriously though, do you hear it under acceleration, decel, just cruising or all of the above?

Can you tell which side it is loudest?

I am sure people wanna help but some more info needed.

Oil pump is a possibility, but then so is your belt. Any work done on the bike before the whine started? If so, what?

I hear it while idling at traffic lights. Dunno while riding, what with Khrome Werks exhaust...

I'll second cam chain tensioner. I had a whine in my road king last month and 1 tensioner was completely gone.

Had a similar problem on my 09 train at about 24K... Came from the primary side. Could only really hear it at idle, came and went with pulling in clutch.

Ending up being the clutch hub bearing. Replaced another bearing while it was apart, mate. The inner primary bearing? Can't remember.
