Default thoughts on roll-up blankets

I was toying with the idea of buying on for a trip to vegas (from socal), kinda to act as a windshield and also to roll my jacket up with.

Anyone here use those? does it kinda act like a mini fairing in terms of cutting down the strong wind?

A jacket on the handlebars can act as a small wind screen and can help deflect some wind, but no where near what a windshield will do.

You could try a something like a Kuryakyn Grand Roll Bag too.
