I think it's net net a bad idea. The LEO is going to be ordered to ride the damn thing, not given an option. And the torquiness and super high speed will sure get the LEO there in a snap but will they arrive dead? Are there going to be 130+ mphpursuits authorized by the admins.? What about the career ending back, wrist, shoulder etc. injuries that the rider position can cause?

Sorry, but I care about our LEOs, and I just don'tget it.

Just me... where's the radio stack? Antenna? How's he call in a chase/pursuit? With the HDs and BMWs they serve as great platforms for motorcycle officers... but this thing.

Is it just for show then?

These are Hyabusa's, not GXR's. In Suzuki terms, that's more of a cruiser than a sport bike (GSX). You've got to really look at the pegs or get on the bike, but while it's a more radical riding position than a Harley, it's more of a naked bike like position - BMW K1200R. Look at the pegs, they look like mids, not rears. I'd think they are using Hyabusa's cause you could ride this for a couple of hours.
That is not correct. The full name is GSX1300R Hayabusa. Look at Suzukis website, first paragraph, second sentence. (Or just look at the link).

But you're right about the riding position. It's not that radical.

And what is the officer supposed to do when he catches up to the criminal? I doubt he/she would be able to perform a PIT maneuver. heh.. That's an invitation to death if you ask me. If I was an LEO, I wouldnt want any part of it.
I think you'll find its more of a deterrent.
We run Volvo T5's which are good for 155mph, and Evolution VIII's in our force. Most know that once we are behind them its all over. The idea being that there are less pursuits because the bad guys know its just a waste of time.

As for stopping a bike, our policy is that we do not pursue bikes, because they tend to crash and die, then we are held responsible.

I never realized that. They are not consistent - in the pulldown list of bikes it's Hayabusa only, other places Hayabusa GSX1300. Thanks. The key point was, which we both agreed, was that many H-D guys think of all sportbikes as all having way radical riding positions when some, like the Hayabusa, are not as radical. I did too until my buddy had me sit on his naked BMW.
