Couldn't do it now, to old & fat but in my younger years I would have gladly volunteered to work traffic for a shot at riding that.
Harley has the motor school, and it's tough. Can you imagine what a Hyabusa School would be like?

Wonder if OK is actually gonna use them in force or if that is more of a show vehicle that they've seized and just take it to different shows and outings to show it off. PA has a few sportbikes and some super high power cars that were drug seized and they just take them to shows they arent actually used by the force.

If i had to ride that piece of shiet, I'd wear a paper bag over my head.[8D].
Why would it be a piece of ****, because it would dust your bike in 1st gear (in acceleration and top speed)? Just because going fast now isn't your thing (and don't tell you you never wanted to have a fast car when you were younger!) doesn't make it a POS. Might not be your riding style, but the Busa's are quite nice bikes as far a fit/finish go, and of course performance is a no brainer!

Custom07RKC, I think you hit the nail on the head though, it's probably used more as a show bike than a functional bike. A radio will still send faster than a 200mph motorcycle will travel!

But could you imagine riding an 8 hour shift hunched over like that? Two hours on my sport bikes and I could not wait to get off the bike.
I seriously doubt that anyone would actually ride that thing for an 8 hour shift without taking a break every 20 minutes or so. With an hour or more for lunch.
Anyone dumb enough to do it would be a cadidate for a medical pension inside of a couple of months. Maybe they only let the young and dumb cops ride it. They can handle the back stress better than an old fart like me.
I can ride a sportbike for 12 hours in a day. MUCH more then my Street GLide. Sportbikes do not give you back problems.

Maybe you can, but the stress of riding a bike like that at high speedday in and day out would eventually get to you. Might not be your back that finally does you in, but eventually somethings going to give. Remeber they won't be using it the same way you or I would to cruise on down the highway, with occasional blasts, to clear out the plugs, right.
The poor guy who's on that thig all day is going to get a chance to acually use its full potentual sometimes IN TRAFFIC!!!! That kind of nonesense is going to stress you out over time, I don't care how good or tough a rider you are.
At least on the Police Harley's you can sit up and relax while potato, potatoing down the road.

And for those of you who think its only for show, think again. There is an article in one of those links that says that yes its for show, but it, and apparently it has brothers ARE going to be used for enforcement duties. Be interesting to see how they hold up, long termto the kind of usage and mileage that police force units get.

Agree, I have more problems with my back when riding cruisers. It's that laid back riding position that sends shocks right to your spine, and because of the forward controls there's not much you can do about it. The problem on the sportbike is sore wrists, but then again, my experience is from a Yamaha R6. The Hayabusa is supposed to be a pretty good long distance bike. Would probably be no problem to ride it 2-3 hours without a break.

I personally can't think of an engine more bullet proof than the Hayabusas.

It's a drug seizure bike. The cops here ride Harleys. They have a few nice drug seizure cages as well. These bikes and cages basically serve as a warning to the dopers.
