Don't you lose some front end torsional rigidity without the fender bracing the forks? Can't imagine the bandanna does anything for that!

Bandanas are great for hanging out of your pocket and looking tuff. lol

They are not good for deflecting anything that is flying off your wheel at 65mph

bandanas or bananas...leave the front fender on. if god wanted you to ride without a front fender, she would have made it an option on harleys. they do nothing that is not absolutely necessary to take your money. YOU NEED A FRONT FENDER!! have you ever seen a harley without a front fender on the dealer's floor--used bikes excluded.

Yeah, I'm sure a bandana will stop a rock from hitting you in the noggin.

There's always a price to pay to be a badass ...

that makes sense...

I guess fender is staying on...

fenders look better on a 21" wheel anyway since the bigger tire eats up most of the gap....

Haven't had a front fender for about 2 years now and i commute about 60 miles a day and I only ever get water. Never had sand or rocks hit me off the tire. Maybe the tread has something to do with it.

Interesting. I took my fender off my 1990 softail for about a minute. I went through water in the parking lot and a rooster tail of water went stright to the face.

I had dunlops on at the time

As an answer to the OP, YES, a bandana helps to stop the water that clings to the tire and fly's out in front of you. It does not work as well as a fender but works fine for what your talking about. Try it yourself and see. A fender does NOTHING to help front end rigidity.
