Was up there this weekend and town was full of motorcycles of all types, and signs everywhere welcoming bikers. And this was not a ralley weekend, they act like they want the bikers there. I felt good knowing a town wanted me there.
Yes, the place we stayed at said they would rather have bikers then four wheelers staying with them, all the businesses want you there. We had a great time at the salty dog too. Good food, beer and music.
I thought the museum had closed. Maybe not. I was there 2 years ago and it was awesome. If it's still there, make sure you see it.
I know they were talking about moving it a few years back. I guess they were having issues with the town but must have straightened things out.
They were discussing bringing it to Prescott AZ which is very close to where I live. I remember getting a chubby the size of Texas when I heard they may be moving here. When they said they were staying put I had to go get drunk.
They were originally closing because of lack of state support. State wouldn't even put a sign up for them when they would do it for little crappy places. They are definitely there and open. Go there evey year just for the love of it. Don't wear HD shirts (not that there is anything wrong with them) but i'll throw a Wheels Through Time shirt on any day !
By the way... MV is a wonderful little town with a lot of love in it. If you've never been make time to go out. Like was said above, rally times or not they love visits from motorcycle riders and cater to them at every hotel!
