Default One off special for covering master cylinder push rod

Made this from cres 304 stainless steel. It covers the push rod and large washer down on your rear master cylinder. It is not polished yet and it is a one off special that I spent 40+ hours machining. It requires pulling the pin and sliding over and fits the billot Harley deuce brake lever for a Softail Deuce. Does anyone know how Harley normally hides the push rod?

I dunno. Since Harley hid it, I can't see it to tell.

I'm not sure it's purpose? It's just a cover? I'd like to see it on the bike. I looks good.

Were you been, Dickey? Talking about the master cylinder on your foot break. My has a cadmium plated shaft that a rusty looking pin that goes thru my shinny billot break lever. There is a black bellow rubber piece in front of it. Were the shaft go thru the bellow there is a retainer and large ugly dark washer. My part hides all that. The slot in it is for the lugs on the brake leaver. The large c-bore hides the washer, retainer and of course the part fits over the push rod. The other side hole is for the rusty looking pin that on mine is held in by press fit and secured with a carter key. That pin is also keeping my part from falling off. The pin head completely goes into side of hole. If you look down on back side you can barely see carter key sticking out. I custom it one off for my setup whick includes harleys billot aluminum brake leavr whick is a little beafy down at the lugs were pin goes thru. The last picture is how it looks on the first. The wrench is a 1/4 drive for sizeing your mind

I need to see it installed. I don't quite see how it cleans up the whole brake rod clevis/pin connection. The pin and cotter pin will still be visible, no?

Yes. The head of the pin (which is 1/64 smaller the the hole) shows but it's total recessed by about 1/32 allowing me to tap in a little plug. You are correct in that if you peer back down on the back side you do see a SS spacer washer and SS small carter key bent neatly over. The pin is actually a press fit in the master cylinder push rod and does not depend on carter key but you cannot leave it off..Double backup is required here--the third your heels are not worth a crap. Very good observation on your part...You are one of the few who sees 3D on here. As a NC Programmer and engineer who has been doing CAD/CAM for the last 30 years I am impressed.

Guess I should say I spent 40 total. Took bike apart to get dimensions. Made a CAD dwg from the rough dimension. Probably spent just a few hours. on the lathe and an hour on the bridge port. Did a few minor reworks to fine tune the mill work. Sill needs polishing and re assembled but I put bike back together to use it Have not taken time to pull bike apart. Just too hot and the tides are high during the day...fishing and working on the pier bulkhead at the little creek I live on. Retired life is great......
