"Known as Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA), the devices will also be able to track bikers’ journeys and store data about each motorbike’s speed."
The article wraps up with:
"More controversial proposals include fitting devices that control the motorbike’s speed."
Scary stuff that we can only hope stays on their side of the Atlantic.
RE: UK Big Brother wants to control your motorcycle
I remember laughing when I first heard that Europe actually had DUI checkpoints. I thought to myself "that would never happen in America". So you never know.

RE: UK Big Brother wants to control your motorcycle
Im sure Im going to catch a bunch of flack for this but I really think this could be a good idea, but I would want a lot more testing done first. After all just think of all the lives and money this country could save in just the testing phase. Just think about it, if the ones that are causing the problems in the first place know that they are being monitored no matter were they are how long do you think it will be before they realize that they are not going to be able to get away with the same crap that they have been for years. I really think that if they started the testing by implanting all politicians above say clerk of courts all the way to the top with chips that would monitor were they are and what they are talking about 24-7 and these records are made public just think of the good it would do. After all you would want to start the testing were it would do the most good and we all know that politicians cause more problems in this country then bikers could ever dream of. Then after a 10-15 years of testing they should have forgotten all about us.
RE: UK Big Brother wants to control your motorcycle
This is just one of a number of interferingand controling ideas our politically correct masters in the UK and Europe would like to impose.
Another "grand idea" is a device in every motorised vehicle to track times driven, roads used etc., to charge a road usage tax - in addition to all the other taxes we already pay to ride / drive. Plus they don't tell you it will calculate average speeds and automatically fine you for speeding, plus they'll know where you are .... mind you they know already, surveilance cameras are everywhere these days.
On top of it Europe has forced new regulations on motorcycle driving tests. Phase one starts this year, it is of such a stringent nature that there'll be few test centres able to do it and the rider's bodies and some testers say it's actually dangerous. Phase two is later this decade and it will be even worse. This idea came from the swedes another politically correct, lefty Gov't who actually want to ban motorcycling!!!
Hopefully, come next election this Gov't will be kicked out [sm=rant.gif]
Better be careful what I write as they're probably watching me right now, gotta go there's a knock on the door and some lights flashing outs........

Hey, I'm from Sweden and I would love to hear about those "new regulations on motorcycle driving tests". I've not heard of this, so what are the changes?
