I would have a good mechanic check it over to be safe. Also I would careful about buying something that doesn't have good mainteance records. If it truely is a "garage queen" the owner would have taken it to the dealer to have all of those overpriced services done.
Back in the 70's I made a living by building swap meet knuck & Pan head bike, been riding my 1985 blockhead for 27 years and still going. Sure would be nice to to go back to 20 something prioritys, getting older sucks large
Don't it ................ I'm 30 yrs on my shovel now with no plans to change .
04 Heritage picked up last year with 7200 miles on it. Had it checked out, been riding it most days (except winter) and have already tripled the original mileage.
Hi Guys. I'm wondering about buying garage queens older than12 years old. I found a Heritage 1998 with 30 thousand miles and was wondering when a Harley is too old for a modern daily driver? What's your opinions? I justice started riding again a year ago on a sportster and want to move Up to a big twin. I mostly ride 2up with my wife. Should I take the plunge on an older bike?
I would buy an 88ci or later if its primarily a "riding tool" if its for
local bar hopping or other local type activities get whatever suits your style.
The 88ci has enough power stk (barely) to haul two up all day without
buzzing your butt to sleep at modern interstate speeds.

Still have my 1999 FXR2 with 63K on the clock. The 2010 StreetGlide gets the miles now but there is NO WAY I would part with the FXR2. Would I call the FXR2 a Garage Queen with 63K on it? No. But. Super strong EVO with a Mikuni carb, runs like a champ and may still see 100K!
If the price is right on the Heritage and it runs mechanically good, wouldnt be afraid of it at all.
