I think most of us text a little now and then. I did not see any harm seeing I was sitting in line with the motor off. I know, it is ironic is it not?
Not the most egregious error I've ever heard of to be sure. I know I sometimes text when I should be doing more important things - like looking at the road. Correct - the irony is what makes your story remarkable.
Well, I figured I am sitting on my bike with motor turned off so why not, I looked at my phone.
Something told me to look up.... young girl was backing up and turning her wheel coming right at me. I just started yelling loud HEYYYYYY, HEYYYYYY!!!!!!
Luckily she heard me and stopped, turned around and could not believe she was about a foot from hitting me.
I learned a lesson today.... dont park so close, even if in line for gas or something else.
I doubt I would have gotten hurt but no doubt would it have damaged my front end.

Had one just about hit me in his suv as I was fueling. Went inside to pay and asked him how he liked the suv. Told me he loved it why did i want one? Told him no, but wanted him to know if he trashed my bike i would trash his suv x 10.
If you were waiting in line in a car would you shut the engine off? I wouldn't
Why would you shut off the bike? And if you were at an angle to her rear tire that is a bit of a blind spot. And to top it off you were texting. Sorry, but to me you made too many mistakes there
