May be our first time out to Sturgis and need a little info on where to stay. I know it's last minute, which I don't like, but any way. All 3 places are either homes or condos for 2 people 5 nights but I don't know which would be best. Not much of a camper and would rather pay a little more for a little comfort. I don't know if staying farther away is worth the savings.
I dont think you can go wrong with any of those locations.
Terry Peak will cool off nicely in the evening and after the last 3 weeks of 100+ temps that will be a good thing IMO. The next week is still 90+ forecast and would expect the same during the rally. Now with that said bring rain gear! I cant remember a year that it didn't rain during the rally at least a couple times :0)
That 40 minute ride from Terry Peak to Sturgis is a beautiful ride! You will also be centrally located in the hills to head out to Spearfish, Deadwood, Rapid, Hill City, Custer, and on and on.
Id be happy to visit with you on the phone if that would make the decision easier? I have lived here my whole life.... No expert in anything really, but I do know the area pretty good.
