They may not budge until you tell them you may as well wait until the 2013's come out. That should do it.

I admit I'm quite jealous of folks who have 18-20 grand in the bank to pay cash for a bike. Myself, I'd rather be riding one for the 5 years it took me to save up for one.

I mean, I don't even know anyone with that kind of loose cash. Guess I'm hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Sometimes it makes sense to finance ANYWAY even if you have the loose cash. Right now money is CHEAP.....I have better places to put cash rather than tied up in a depreciating toy.

Never say never! BUT For now, the bike market is in a slump and you should be able to get a deal ESPECIALLY ON A LEFT OVER!

3rd stone from the sun? - New Jersey! I stumbled across the deal I got on my bike (09 Road King) as the 2010's were being released. Damn near 20% off listed price!

A dealer would much rather sell a bike than not! The fact that you can pay for it can only be in your favor.

Shop around, one dealer here was MSRP and another was $1800 off.

Dont be affraid to shop a distance away from your home. If you can save good money it would be worth the drive. Around here it all depends the dealer, some wheel and deal others wont even talk less than msrp...

I apologize for coming across as some sort of a privileged character. My intent was to gain some perspective and looking at this thread it worked. I learned that in some cases cash doesn't carry the clout it once did.

Cash is king when buying used from a private party. The dealers would usually rather have you finance through them because they make extra money off it. The downside of financing is that a lot of folks never pay the loan and end up defaulting, but I don't think that impacts the dealer, just the finance company.

If there is no trade involved, offer $2000.00 below MSRP, when you are ready to buy. Special edition models or limited availability models will still bring retail
