I wouldnt wear pins from a business cuz Im not a bilboard. but, I do intend to buy pins and patches from events I attend to put on my vest. I do understand wanting to get pins from every dealership you been too as a way to keep track of where you been tho. I personally never buy anything from dealerships. quality doesnt match the price. ever.

It's the principal of the matter. Merchandise paid for and not received due to someone's incompetence at the HD dealer. Then the dealer basically says "tuff luck". Not good business! Not good PR! All over an item that might have cost the dealer $2.00 max.

Christ, here we go with the apples to oranges comparisons. You guys are so desperate to prove a point, you'll turn things into a complete cluster f*ck of unrelated misinformation to serve your own twisted agenda.
It's $6.00 - not $600! No one is coming to OP's house and slowly robbing her of all her possessions. No one is covertly diverting money from her bank accounts to fund their plans for world domination. No one is monitoring the DB level of her farts, intent on catching her in a noise violation!
Un-freakin-believable - talk about PARANOIA. Get a freaking grip, guys.
So hubby and I rode out to Indiana shortly after 4th of July. We took a slight detour and stopped in Sturgis, MI at the HD dealer there. We got shirts, but forgot to get dealer pins.
After two emails to the dealer asking if they could send me pins, I got a response of "sure". I gave them all the info they needed and all was good with the world.
Monday I got home and in the mail I found an envelope from the dealer. It was a very nice envelope, but it was completely empty - not even an invoice was in there. It was obvious that the flap had not been sealed, so the contents just fell out somewhere on its journey.
I called the dealer and basically it was tough luck. I am out pins and money. They said that my mail must have been "hijacked". Yeah, I live in the country - they aren't hijacking the computer software and parts I have mailed all the time, I'm kind of guessing no one is hijacking a couple of pins (wouldn't they just take the whole freaking thing?). Not only that, the envelope wasn't ripped, and all the gum is still on the flap portion - none on the main portion - so I'm pretty sure this is a packaging issue.
They did say they could send more, at a cost (again). Yeah, cause I have faith they can package them properly this time.
Just p*sses me off. Learned my leasson though, will never order anything from another dealer unless I can pick the stuff up in person.
In the time it took you to post this you could have carried your elderly neighbours garbage to the curb and earned some of your pin money back lol.
How does said dealer know you are not just cheap and trying to get an extra set of pins for your "wall collection" Just saying
Hold on a minute - a TRUE collector wouldn't have forgotten to get them at the dealership. I mean, that's why collectors go to different dealerships, right?
That being said and no offense, but... I want OP's life for one day - where my biggest problem/gripe is about losing 6 bucks.
I'm not a collector - but it was the first big ride I've been on (2,300 miles) so stopped at this dealer in Sturgis (to say I've ridden to Sturgis ).
And, it is a bit more than $6 - mor like $40
I didn't say it was the worst problem of my life - only that I was bitching. I had a lot more problems yesterday, but that is the only one minor enough that I can relate it to others that aren't directly involved - so I used it to blow off steam.
That being said, you guys really need to get a life if you have nothing better to do with your time than complain about how I'm complaining.
I did - basically told that it's not their problem since it was sent regular mail (not certified) and the envelope wasn't torn. They apparently don't have anywhere that lost stuff is kept.

We don't have garbage pick up (we live in the country - and getting to the dump is like 15 minutes one way. Heck, just getting to the closest elderly neighbor would take more time than writing the post!

Pictures of the envelope in question, along with the effluance of glue on the flap. However, that is a fair question.

No offense taken, as long as you don't take offense at my saying that I want your life, where at one time your biggest problem/gripe was about not getting the vanity plate he wanted .
