I recently ordered some covers and a shift linkage from Carl Brouhard. One member has commented on the black parts turning purple after a while. Has anyone else experienced this? Any other comments on the general quality of their stuff would be appreciated too.
Yeah, I understand it's a little late to start this thread, but there ya go.....
I can't comment on the Carl Brouhard stuff, but the concept makes sense. I had Rineharts on an Ultra Classic and the Black Anodized Tips started turning purple. Cool thing was they matched my Black Cherry Ultra and I liked it.
I had a Rinehart 2-1 on my old FB. The tip turned purple on it and they replaced it. At some point they fixed that purple issue and none of the ones after that had the problem. Or so I am told. The replacement they sent me never turned purple.
I have his floorboards and they look great. I just put them on this year so they havent had time to fade yet if they are going to but i havent heard anything negative from the people i know who run his stuff
I have a few items of theirs, they are chrome though, but are very high quality, no issues whatsoever. and I really like them and get good comments from them. had them a couple years now, still look new
I have a couple of Carl Brouhard parts on my bike. Great design, no quality issues, but the chroming process is NOT GOOD. Parts look very "orange peel" like and from a distance...saddlebag latch kit looks dented.

dollars to doughnuts, if you contact them, they'd take care of it
