Can anyone tell me where the dealers are that are selling for under msrp?? I have read many post like "got mine for $750 under", or, "my dealer is discounting 2k on 07's"...trouble is, nobody seems to post dealer names....so is this under msrp just bull? or can someone please post some names..
I have called and sent e-mail to around 45 dealers...lots of msrp, but so far nobody under
Thanks
Unfortunately, phoning and e-mailing will not find you the lowest price. You need to show up at a dealer, in person, prepared to negotiate to get the best deal. No dealer is going to advertise discount pricing. Anyone who got a good deal did it by sitting down and hashing it out with the dealer sales guys. If they know you're serious, they'll be willing to work with you, especially during the winter months, after the holidays when they are slow and everybody is just getting they're credit card bills in the mail from Christmas. Sadly, the phone and the e-mail doesn't convey to the dealer that you're a serious buyer, just a shopper looking for a deal. Sorry, but that's just the way it is... Good luck in your search.
I bought my Jake and Elwood for $800.00 less then MSRP. He'll even the sales guy didn't think it would happen. Now your not going to get the same deal I got by calling in or emailing your just wasting time.
My tips:
Go to the dealer with over fifty percent of the bike deal in cash
Go the weekend prior to the end of the month
Engage the salesman's manager imediately so he knows todays the day or your walking
Understand following financialprinciple "present and future value of money" presently its in your pocketand will stay there making future interest money unless they want to deal. If not walk.........
I live in South Texas - So limit your search to every dealer below Austin off the IH35 corridor. I cannot give my secret dealership away so easily. I had to do the work, so must you. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saying your not financing doesn't mean **** to a dealer, they prefer you do so they make $ on the interest.Coming in at the end of the month doesn't mean **** either, any dealer I worked at didn't actually close their books till way into the next month.I'm sure you hacked out a good deal,it's just that cash and end of the month didn't do it for you.
Most Dealerships have trained salesmen who will squeeze every cent from you . Be aware, know the price your willing to pay and stick to it. Automotive salesmen are world champs at this but many bike shops have the same tactics. It all about $. Shop around, you will find a deal.Don'twait till spring, thats thier big season.
It's just not that easy to walk into severl dealers...In KC they are all owned by the same family...the ones I have been contacting are 30 to 700 miles from me...just a little more then a quick trip down to the dealer. On each request I have included my phone #, all were told I would respond to the first one accepting my offer by a 10k wire transfer within 24 hours....still no takers, and I have been into 11 dealers that are within 150 miles of me....still no takers...my best go is msrp with the local dealer I guess....just wanted to see if UNDER msrp was really true.....Have purchased several new bikes over the last 40 years....still never seen one go under msrp in my area...not saying is dosent exist.....but I am from Missouri,,,you know, the Show Me State
