**Stolen Heritage Springer St Louis, MO Aug 6, 2012**
Last night 8/6/2012 sometime between 10:00 and 11:00pm my 1998 Heritage Springer was stolen from in front of my house. Missouri license plate number AR7RC. The pictures below are recent, the bike did not have the Heritage seat, it had a Lepera solo on at the time.
If you're in the St Louis area and see this, please report it to the authorities immediately. I know its probably gone, but I have to try.
That really sucks man. I'll keep my eyes peeled in Chesterfield and in the Saint Charles County/O'Fallon area. But it probably went east. What part of STL was it stolen from?
What exactly can you do with a stolen bike? Parts? It is my understanding there are no states left that had the loopholes allowing you to obtain clean titles on stolen bikes anymore.
Sorry man and I know this is like a nightmare. Hope you had good insurance. I know this is a bad time but how bought telling us how you think they made off with something that big. I am pretty casual about mine and how I leave it and guess I ought to tighten up.
This is what scares me on road trips, coming out and finding my Bike gone... Sorry for your loss... It will be most be used for a vin swap on a wrecked bike... Keep an eye out for springer for sale in your area if you can identify a scratch or blemish on the parts you may have a chance...
According to my insurance guy, you can drill out the key lock carefully, just turn the tumbler and it's gone. He also said fork locks and disc lock only slow them down if they want it, 3 to 4 guys will lift it on a truck and it's gone..
He expects it is already in pieces or believe it or not: "it may be in a rolling chop shop on the way to Sturgis they will have a salvaged title frame and will rebuild it and sell it there. "If it isn't back in 24 hours, don't expect it back" really sucks.
