Default Exhaust Question

I recently purchased an 07 Heritage Classic and had the Sceaming Eagle bolt-on exhaust, air cleaner kit added and stage 1 download. Iam nothappy with the performance nor the sound. I have talked to two other riders who hadthe same thing done but they took the baffles out and removed the insulation from the pipes and they insists it is much louder and has much more power.Has anyone else experienced this? I want to find out if this is true and perhaps, do it myself. When I asked the dealer but I'm sure youknow the response I got. "It cannot be done. It will kill the power." I hope you guys can provide some insight.

Thanks

Default RE: Exhaust Question

See the exhaust thread on what I and others did to their se slip ons. I just dumped mine for some 2.0 rush slip ons and I am very satisfied.

I have already done this but removed everything!! It is very LOUD! with the aircleaner and stage1 download, it has increased the power considerably. I just wanted to see if I was the only one who took matters into their own hands. Thanks for the link to the previous tread.

If it were me I would dump the slip-ons and buy a set of V&H Big Shots, (Staggerd or Longs) but that is just me.

Does the V&H Big Shots provide enough sound? Or, are the subdued? I guess I am am asking will they get the needed attention we need? And, how do they perform with the Stage 1 stuff?

Thanks for the response.

I have the Bigshot Staggereds and they are pretty loud.If you change out exhaust, you will need to get some kind of fuel management system. Mostcommon are thePower Commander or Race Tuner. I personally won't recommend the V&H fuel pak...was not impressed with it, nor the customer service/tech support from Vance and Hines. Just my 2 cents worth.
