hi there, i have an iron 883 sportster and i wanted to know if it was possible to remove the baffles from the exhaust? or do anything to give it a deeper sound.. thanks
i take it that you dont really want to spend alot of money...on stock exhaust you can have the baffles punched out but they are not removable...but it sounds kind of farty to me...
i got a set of cycle shack slash cut slip ons with removable baffle for under $200 depending on where you get them. they look great and sound even better...my bike sounds awesome and the good thing is you dont have to mess with the mapping or anything. it wouldnt hurt but its not needed.
thanks for the info but i really am a newbie, so slip ons are not the whole exhaust pipes? is that right? and how easy are they tp put on? and whats the process?
they are not the whole system, correct. just the mufflers. there are a couple of clamps and some bolts...also grab urself a can of wd-40...otherwise its a pain in the *** to wiggle them off. its really strait forward...i'm not sure what year sporty you have but on my nightster it was super simple. i'm sure you'll need a 1/2 inch socket and maybe a 9/16.
no look for cycle shack slip on mufflers...or just slip on mufflers if you dont wanna go with cycle shack. all major brands sell slip ons...cobra, vance and hines, cycle shack, screaming eagle etc...
