Default Engine Guards

Taking delivery of a FLSTC the end of the week. Do most of you have Guards on your bike? How are they installedd? Are they bolted on? Is there drilling involved? Can't stop into a shop until I get home the end of the week to see how the guards are mounted thx...

Bolted on. Frame has appropriate mounting boss. No drilling involved.

Engine guard bar is a MUST on any bike (IMHO).
I also highly recommend the rear saddlebag guards.

Have them installed before you pick the bike up.
No reason to wait util you've dropped and damaged your bike to buy them.

I got them for my new Super Glide. Simple to install. I got them for function in case of stupid noob tricks like dropping the bike in a parking lot--been riding since the spring and haven't dropped a bike yet but I assume it will happen eventually. Tastes are all subjective but personally I don't think they are all that bad looking either.

The only thing that I wonder about is what happens if they touch down in a turn at higher speeds? The pegs just push out of the way when scraping. I suppose the guard touching down would put some nasty torque on the bike. I wouldn't want to find out.

As long as you have a foot lbs torque wrench. And they do go on easily. 4 bolts and that's it.

Thats what i'll do, install myself. From your post it sounds like the bike is already set up to receive factory guards, just bolt on. Got the guards on order and being delivered to the shop this week. Close on the bike Friday morning and bike is scheduled for delivery sameday in the afternoon. Getting a tad bit excited...

Yep, do the guards. I have just the front ones, but they've already saved my ***. Post pics when you can, and congratulations bro'!
