I have a oval head and the Gmax and Fulmer is to me the best fitting helmets...i just bought a 3/4 GMAX and i must say, it's the cheapest and best fitting helmet i have ever worn.

Default Super Seer

Take a look at Super Seer touring helmets.

A bit more than some, very well made, excellent customer service. You can actually speak to an employee by phone, they will walk you though the process. Just describe your concerns and what you need.

JMO, may be what you are both looking for.

thanks guys... I forgot about Fullmer.

The Super Seer and GMax are new to me.

I went ahead and ordered a Daytona 3/4 last night (I am very impatient), so we will have to see. This is helmet #3 for her, I am hoping I get it right.

It is frustrating not being able to put hands on very many brands/styles of helmets in a store. Everyone carries 1 or 2 brands and never in enough sizes... oh well.

"Man, I would love for her to wear a full-face, but the visor triggers motion-sickness with her."

Possibilities:

- get a full-face, and put a full-height windshield in front of her. She will be able to put the visor up most of the time with the windshield as protection. I normally ride this way, been doing it for years.

- consider something like the Nolan N43e "Trilogy". It has a removable face shield, a removable chin bar, can be configured many different ways.

I wanted a white 3/4 to go with my red & white bike. I too have a slightly oval head and wanted the Bell 500. XL felt tight in the forehead but XXL was too loose on the sides. I bought the XL, reached my hand in through the padded liner and with some 40 then 80 grit sandpaper, removed the foam that was pushing on my forehead. I then went on a 4k mile trip with no discomfort whatsoever. I also like the white for the visibilty.

Wearing a 3/4 isn't that much better than a 1/2 helmet. The older I get (35) the slower I heal. lol
From no helmet - to a novelty - to a DOT 1/2 - I've now been rockin' the new Shoei modular all season and don't think I'll go backwards anymore.
I hope ^^^ isn't a maturity thing...

My wife and I have HJC IS-33.
Not a classic look, but very functional.
Shields can be changed in under 30 sec.
And we both have mirrored shields which improves the look.

This what my wife is riding in right now also. She can't use the shield as the curve of the shield makes her motion sick. So I have it removed. The problem is that the helmet seems to be too round, not oval and the surface area on the edges when the shield is off catch a ton of air.
