Have a 2009 Ultra Classic with the 96 cu. in. engine, no performance modifications. The bike sucks air like it has COPD; no get up and go. I would like to get some performance out of it without breaking the bank. I'm about ready to slip on a pair of V&H mufflers. What additional mods can you suggest without tearing into the engine? My next step is to replace the damn pipes and get rid of the cat. My right leg is darker than my left from all the heat. I suspect this has been asked a million times, but appreciate everyone's experiences. Thanks!
You can't just do pipes, you'll need to change the air cleaner, and then get it tuned for the combination.Getting rid of the cat will get a big boost.

No cat in 09 unless it's a California bike. Best bet is slip ons and hi flow AC and tuner of choice. I went with PCV from Fuel Moto with a pre loaded map and worked perfect.
Youre right, it has been asked a million times before. What oil do you prefer?
Just wanted to pop in for a oment abt FamedFXR tag line. It is very similar to mine and I agree (ofcourse) with it. In addition, when I ride I always play the "What if?" game. What if that person did that and this other person did, whatever.
It helps me a lot to always have a plan, an escape route and I am 1 step ahead of that ***@#LE who turns right into you or other dumbass maneuver.

What the eff does this have to do with the man's question?
My dealer told me they come asthmatic and constipated.
Agree with Twistnride, if you do pipes you have to do air too. Then it's tuner time as that's the only way to adjust your EFI. You're looking at $500 minimum and that's just the pieces parts. Good luck.
