Default Harley Rider Killed By Ducati Rider

It's bad enough with cars, this just sucks that racer boy couldn't just have fun in his own lane and instead he ended up killing someone.

I always wonder if him wearing a helmet might have saved his life. When I had a head on crash my helmet saved me because I struck the roadway with my head pretty hard and did get a concussion. But so many of the people that write these articles hype the helmet message you never know if it would have saved him or if it is author (who probably wouldn't know the difference between a Duc and Harley) giving his/her opinion.

Sounds like an inexperienced rider on too much of a bike on the wrong road. Too bad an innocent stranger had to pay the price.

Terrible tragedy to all involved.

Not sure if he can be branded "racer boy" though, maybe just inexperienced??

I bought my son a Ducati wannabe, a Honda Superhawk. V-Twin sport bike with a big a$$ 48mm carb. Thing is a blast to ride.

I've seen plenty of Harley riders that couldn't stay between the lines, and made me nervous riding around them.

Let's be perfectly clear about this...

The poor guy did not end up dead because he was not wearing a helmet.

He ended up dead because some idiot with more bike than brains went left of center and hit him head on.

None us can be sure that wearing a helmet would have saved his life, but everyone can be sure that if the boy racer would have stayed in his lane he would have been fine...

If you are walking down the street and someone shoots you, you did not die because you forgot to wear a bullet proof vest... it is really very simple....

Exactly! The idiot who wrote the article didn't say if the guy dies from a head injury. Just had to tag on about the lack of helmet. Not that the other douchebag killed him.

Inexperienced and Ducati shouldn't really be used in the same sentence IMHO. Most Ducati's are Superbikes and it's not the bike to gain experince from. I've seen and known people that go out and purchase these Superbikes, get all the gear but can't ride. Yes they look like Boy Racer walking around the parking lot but can't ride worth a crap. It's the same for Harley riders (they want to be like?) and IMHO worse since the sport bike guys tend to try to develop riding skills (they want to be like Rossi) and wear all the gear IMHO.

Rider might have been a skilled rider and I don't know what caused him to cross the double line, but he failed to negotiate a turn causing an accident which lead to the death of the other rider.
