Have any of you, that have gone on a really great trip, felt a little depressed when you got back? After my x Canada trip, it was great to be home but after a few weeks I found that riding around here was a little unsatisfying. It's nice to be out on the bike but it lacks something.
I think I know what you mean. I ride these same roads around here all the time. A few times a year we take 4-5 day trips to neighboring states. I get spoiled quickly with the smooth asphalt, lack of gigantic insects, hills, and new scenery. I get home and.......blah. Sometimes I don't ride for weeks. I get out on the bike and I am disgusted with the crappy asphalt, flat land, and same old scenery. I suppose it's worth it though, I look forward to those trips. I'm counting down the days until our next one in mid October.
It sounds strange but I get depressed like the last 20 miles before I even get home..Guess I just start thinking about the trip and I just dont want to stop..
I thought I was the only one. I rarely go on a vacation and the trip to Sturgis was my 2nd real vacation. Nothing really planned, just eat breakfast, ride, look at everything, ride, eat dinner and go to bed.
I enjoyed myself so much, that for two weeks, I have remained in vacation mode trying to make it last as long as I can. I know that sooner or later the appointments and work will catch up to me. I figure the longer I make it last, the less time there will be before I get to go again.
