Default How Often Do You Practice Braking & Evading?

The motormen that I know of in S. Florida are required to practice monthly. City & County motormen. How abt u non-motormen? How often do you practice Braking & Evading.

Of course, there is more to practice than just Braking & Evading but the poll is about just Braking & Evading.

My wife was bitching about practicing so often, then a week or so ago we had to use those skills when an SUV pulled out in front of us. When we stopped later for lunch she was happy we did.

Really most the times I ride I do a little bit of practice.

If its becomes a habit it will be Ur reaction and U can react a lot faster than instead of having to think how/what to do in those emergency situations for those who seldom do it...

This is what was taught to me, practice every time U have some space to maneuver, that is how to ride... Sometimes getting good fuel mileage isn't the only way to ride... And I for one don't mind getting less miles on all of the consumables if it keeps me just a little sharper with my reactions...

Like FLHTK said, I get practice every day. Yesterday, damn near was run over pulling out of the gas station when a huge truck darted right in the same lane. Didn't see me until I slammed on my brakes and yelled F♥CK! through his window. People just don't see us.

Practicing (one way or the other) is a good idea.

Never. You don't need to practice when you do it for real everyday - as mentioned by others. No - we're not kidding.

Very often while riding on a non busy road. I'll pick out a spot of the road in front of the bike and then do evasive measures to not hit the spot.
