I'm using the HD Deep Bucket Sundowner, which is a comfortable seat but its so freekin big and looks out of place. It finally hit me on what to do with it. I had a interior repair guy who fixes seats and panels at our dealer dye/paint the center panel side portion of the seat to see if its what i really wanted to do before i went to the expense of a upholstery shop actually sewing in new panels.. I think it turned out pretty well. the color is off a bit and matches better in the pics then in person.. wierd..
The color looks pretty close to me and I think it definitely adds to the overall look of your bike. I wonder if it the texture that gives more of a color difference since it's not high gloss. The only thing that catches my eye is the angle of the black on your paint doesn't match the angle of the seat, but that's just me. I like it.
which angle ? the side panel rises up to the nose of the seat.. it actually lays over a bit towards the center.. its where the thighs rest.
i'm not so sure its the texture is as much as it is the flat of the dye/paint compared to the gloss of the tins clearcoat..
when we tested it, it was closer. once he put it on, i think the black darkened it too much.. it looks on the brown side of the color hue in direct sunlight. i think if he put down white first, it would have matched better.. no biggie, this winter it'll be replaced with actual material..
after rereading what Boz said, i think he meant the black on the tank doesn't line up... i never noticed that before.. i guess i'll be in for a paint job too.. cams and tuner first though.

That is what I meant. The black on the tank and rear fender look more horizontal. I am looking for a different paint scheme on my bike and guess I notice different stuff on different bikes. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. For my seat, what I would like to do is have the stitching the same color as my tank stripe color.....whenever I figure out what that is going to be.
