so let me get this right, when you take it in for your 1000 mile service, you're going to give them carte blanche to basically ride your bike through a full tank of gas? in that case, make sure you fill it just before you get to the dealer so they can get maximum use, i mean 'troubleshooting' out of it.
just fill your tank, reset the odometer to zero, go for a ride (preferably at least 100 miles), then fill your tank again. divide miles traveled by gals used and you'll have a good indicator of your mpg. multiply your mpg by 6 and that is how far you could conceivably go on a tank of fuel. i would be looking for fuel about 50 miles before that.
yea should have known the 2013 light came on about 3 miles ahead of the 2012 so now fill up when i stop on long rides.I was actually at a station with about 165 miles to go according to that little thing with the r. But my bank card would not work so i said the hell with it and went on thinking we would stop before then.
