I normaly avoid the super slabs as a general rule anyway. I like to take the long way home much more interesting.
In 41 miles you save only 10 to 15 minutes anyway.
Too bad its all down south, and nothing up here around Dallas and Fort Worth. I would have to go buy another metric bike just to enjoy cruising that fast.
I much prefer riding the back roads at a much slower pace, but sometimes you just have to get from here to there as quick as possible. Not sure if running 85 rather than 65 would save much time though. My fuel mileage really starts to drop of quickly if I run much over 75. The extra gas stops might eat up more time than I save.
I have been on that new tollway section, and it is very light on traffic at this time. The big problem is the guy that you see that drives like an idiot in a 55 mph zone is really dangerous now doing 85 to 90 mph. You probably won't survive what would have been a fender bender at 55, when you doing 90.

This is real close to me and I have seen the toll road. Any ideal of whether the oil patch trucks will be able to use this road? I ain't heard and it would be nice to only dodge the crazy cages with out worrying bout the rocks, mud flying and giant potholes that will inevitiably come from the trucks if they are allowed access. At least I can't see any rig moves being done but the frac, diesel, and water haulers will tear the new stuff right up. No offense to the drivers as they are supporting their families like I do but still....
That will just give everyone an excuse to go 90, like they don't do that already. Our Interstates in Kansas are now 75, bumped up from 70. Not sure I see the need to go much faster than 70. But hey, every things bigger in Texas, right?

You can see the Rockies standing on a beer can in Kansas. Same for Nebraska.
