Different type of accident with less injuries. I am 99% after almost a year. The surgical repair gives me slight aches sometimes. I also get a light pain that feels like fresh cut across surgery scar. I know it isn't the same and even now I don't always trust the repair. I favor it till I need it. It is getting better mentally. I grew up riding. Forty eight years ago my first solo motorcycle ride. I grew up with and around motorcycles. I have only gone down on pavement once and that was about thirty five years ago. I still remember and it taught me some lessons. I've also had friends go down hard. Most came back to riding but their attitude had changed. They were wiser, more cautious, and serious. Healing for you will be a slow process physically. It will give you time to heal some mentally. You will be changed and you will figure it out. Be patient. Follow orders and complete your therapy.
Glad you are still with us. One of the hardest things for me was not being able to get out anymore. Went from being a summer guy to a winter guy because folks weren't getting out much then. Weird thing is as you heal you get younger & older at the same time. Accepting the fact that you won't be rockin like before is hard. As others have said it just takes time. Hope she has good insurance.
Ps. After several years I am a summer guy again. Thankin' God I can ride. Don't walk too good no more tho.
Thanks folks, the majority of the mental issues are guilty feelings, as in I feel like if I hadnt have gone on the trip, my family and friends wouldnt have had to go through all this, which I know myself I shouldnt feel that way but I cant help it...Others are just the usual ****, I get real nervous in the car if someone cuts us off etc...
As for insurance she didnt have alot, between my insurance and hers the bills will be taken care of and I'll be able to buy myself a new trike but thats about it..

One thing no one who hasn't been there can understand is the shock to the system after a hard hit like that. After my little mishap the sight of a car wreck or something similar on tv made me cringe in a way I never had before. For a while I even would jolt myself awake from a sound sleep. Hard to explain. Again, time/patience is the key.
