...and a BIG settlement. Please do well!

I'd like that outcome, however she owns nothing, had a small insurance policy and get this, she was cited for 2 things:
1. Improper lane useage
2. Failure to maintain minimum highway speed

Thats it!!!! Despite 6 witness statements saying she was stopped or backing up...

I have seen it quite a bit down here around Dallas and Fort Worth. I drive so much for work I have seen tons of wrecks and some really bad ones at that. I see people cut over 3 or 4 lanes just to not miss an exit and im waiting for the day to cut in front of me when im in my truck cuz the ranch hand in their passenger side isnt gonna bother my big diesel any, but I have a buddy that got hit by a drunk lady and he ended up over the barrier on 820 and in the middle of the other side of traffic and ripped his stomach open and the only thing that saved him other than the grace of god not allowing him to get hit was the car full of nurses that stopped and basically saved his life.

Hope you get better and are able to get up on your feet again and back on the road soon.

Wow,
First of all, thank God your ok man.

Your injuries are some of the most painful a human can endure, a broken femur compares only to childbirth and yours sounds like you gave birth triplets at the same time.

I just wanted to say, this stupid F@#@ng A_hole should be charged with something stronger than a stupid dmv offense.

I mean these retards that miss and exit and decide they are going to just do anything they want to not have to inconvenienced by going to the next exit or crossing a medium turn around should be held criminally responsible.

the other thing I wanted to say, no one can ever help you lose the feelings you will carry now about your experience, you will have to work it out.

But remember had you been on a three wheeler you wouldn't have fared much better.
Its not your fault, not the bikes fault, the blame lies on the car who decided to stop and back up on the highway.

It would be a shame to let this change your life, if you can work it out and move on and get back on two wheels then you will have at least not given up anything more.

Maybe some will argue you have to accept some responsibility for your speed and leaving yourself in a position where a last minute occurrence would be avoidable, whatever, the point is, if you love to ride, so much so that it is part of your life, part of who you are, dont let her take that away from you.

You only live once and you cant live in fear.
Maybe it will take time, maybe you will decide to not ride highways anymore, (although they should be the safest place except for the speeds) or limit your riding, but try not to let that driver take from you the joy of riding.

I keep saying "she" sorry if I m wrong on that.

You know if you endanger someone at highway speeds you are putting their lives at risk without any regard or concern for anyone but yourself.

It just really pisses me off people like this can ruin another persons life or change it forever because they are so stupid and thoughtless.

Yout life is so precious, you get one short burst of it and then we are gone, to let anyone take one minute of it and change your plans or your destiny rubs me ten ways from Sunday wrong!!

Put a person behind the wheel of a car and they become self centered brain dead idiots that think they can do anything they want and get away with whatever they want whenever they want, they seem to forget the massive responsibility of driving around a couple of tons of glass and steel and rubber next to others on a road with noting separating them but a painted line in the road, they feel invincible I think and just act like total irresponsible A holes.

I see it every single day on the road, we almost got taken out last night on our way to wedding by a box truck just merging into our lane for no reason with no concern that we are there and cant get out of the way, almost got scrunched up good, barely avoided it.

Driving privileges for the person who did this to you should be removed for a period of years and only after massive fines, advanced driving programs and community service in the thousands of hours helping people who have been victims of bad drivers only after all that should they even be considered to be given a second chance.

It is not a right to drive it is a privilege and that person should lose theirs and hopefully it makes their life very difficult to teach them a lesson which wont take back your pain, your experience or anything but at least it is one less retard on the road and maybe if people knew the penalty for such stupid driving is so severe it might dter others from doing the same thing and putting others at risk.

(sorry if my angry "retards" comments offend anyone) it just really pisses me off.

She should serve time for it, treat her like a vehicular manslaughter charge even though your are alive, technically you died.

I know others will say lawsuit and your insurance most likely will have to go that route for your bills and expenses but the money isnt the point it is the personal responsibility and making sure this nut cant do this again to someone else

Sorry to babble on this really makes me mad!!

Unfortunately adding more casualties isnt the answer either, usually these meatheads have a kid in the backseat with no belt on playing in the back window, so just as you decide ok lady you asked for it you look and see the little eyes of some poor kid who did nothing and has a parent that should be walking or taking a bus.

I would LOVE to be a cop whenever I am on the road, I literally can not go out and not see 3 to a dozen idiots that are driving so recklessly I know any cop worth his badge would give chase and write them a novel of tickets to get them off the road, but there is never, not ever a cop when I see these A holes, man o man would I love to have that authority, not to abuse it at all, no need to just to be able to flip the switch pull them over and write them up and tell them what they have done and tow their car and leave them on the side of the road, where they belong.

Oh I am just gettinG mad all over again.
It is embarrassing to be a human being sometimes I swear.

the minimum amount of liability insurance required in most states is a joke...should be several hundred thousand dollars. insurance companies lobby the legislatures constantly to keep the required amounts down. the insurance guys claim it is because people can only afford the minimum---bullshit, it limits their liability. state legislatures are going to have to raise the minimum requirements on liability. call your representatives today and complain.
every day is going to be a little better than the last. best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Man I'm glad you're still breathing. Some people are just idiots, thats the first gd thing they teach you in drivers ed "if you miss your exit, there is always another one just up the road."

Living in calibu I hear all to often about un/minimally insured drivers. The sad fact of life is that most people don't care or don't believe that they will get in a serious accident one day.

I had a pretty bad car accident 4 years ago, ran my diesel over a pt cruiser. I remember being given a ride home and being scared to death to get in a car. I didn't drive for about two weeks but eventually I did. And I did notice my head being on a swivel constantly, and not trusting any other person on the road. You'll get there bud, just give it time and learn to trust yourself and your driving abilities again. You will find yourself being a MUCH more defensive driver.
