EXACTLY! all 5 of us are in the same shape mentally, even a bike wreck on tv makes me cringe and get sick to my stomach even..Same jolting awake even..
That will pass in time. One thing that sucked for me was before the wreck I was healthy as a horse. After I was gettin sick all the time. I think my immune system used itself up trying to save me. I'm still kind of that way.
The old saying, 'If it don't kill ya it makes you stronger', is bullshit. lol

LOL I'm down about 40 pounds and have a few more grey hairs already
Wow! Here's to hoping you recover quickly and completely. I agree with Wide Open, though, about making any decisions at the moment about riding. I've had two accidents, neither my fault but neither of them anything close to what you went through. The first resulted in a broken collar bone and the second was just bumps and bruises because I slowed down enough to just drop instead of getting tossed. The bike was totaled, which worked in my favor as I was already in the process of getting a loan for the new one and the money came in handy. However, neither of them put me off riding. The first one just made me more aware of my surroundings. The second was unavoidable. But, like I said, your ordeal is far worse so whatever you decide, all the power to you.
I'd like that outcome, however she owns nothing, had a small insurance policy and get this, she was cited for 2 things:
1. Improper lane useage
2. Failure to maintain minimum highway speed
Thats it!!!! Despite 6 witness statements saying she was stopped or backing up...
I have no idea how these things work out legally but in my situation, after the attorneys fees I got about 40K out of the person's who hit me's car insurance /he had about 100k in liability. Then, with a little persistence on the part of my lawyer, some how, and I have no idea how, he got an additional 60K from MY car insurance. Maybe an insurance expert can shed a little light on this. Underinsured coverage maybe? Keep in mind, my auto insurance, had NOTHING to do with my mc insurance. In fact at the time I was a dirt poor 20 year old and I don't think I even had any mc insurance.
At the very least, you should at least consult with an attorney if you haven't already.
The citations she received will have little or no bearing on a civil settlement.
May 4th, 2012... Too close to home! Glad you're OK. Took 2 months for me to walk on my own. My Street Glide and the teenage texter's car was totalled. Ask for meds, and more meds, no shame in it. Follow the doc's instructions... Get well, bro!
8 broken bones in all... My permanent titanium bling!
Come'on man, tell them the real truth....
I warned you the cable company doesn't play anymore when your a little late on paying the bill.
I had a ladder incident at work twenty years ago that has left me physically and mentally "different". As the old saying goes , " it's not the fall it's the landing that kills you ". In my case it was what I landed on that nearly killed me . I was in the field all alone , gruesomely injured and scared witless. Because of God's grace and the efforts of many good people I survived . I was out of work for sixteen months. I tell you this because I want to let you know I understand what you did ,are and will go through. One day everything is normal . You get up ,kiss the wife goodbye , go to work and deal with the world. Next day your beat to crap , in pain , isolated and worried about surviving never mind returning to your previous life . But I lived and so did you. You are a tough SOB Ryan so take some comfort in that . Give yourself some time to mend . Be patient with the two steps forward , one step back healing that you will go through . Don't feel guilty about what your loved ones are going through because they are thrilled that you are still around . Let them fuss about you and don't get pissed off when one of them decides it's time to give you a "wake up kick in the *** ". If you're like me at the appropriate time you'll need it . Time was my friend and healer . Life is good .
Sorry for the accident, I'm glad your alive and going to make a full recovery.
Look, you gotta interview Personal Injury Lawyers, theses guys work on contingency, usually 33% of funds recovered. We all hate to be litigious, no one likes to be sued or going after others, but this is what the Lawyer specialist do. It takes years to complete and can be a PITA but its your right and duty.
Down here the lawyers are all over every citation, any ticket or accident gets me dozens of intro letters and phone calls from ambulance chasing lawyers. Keep looking and you'll find a hungry lawyer wanting to go after more money for ya.
Good luck
