I am looking at getting myself a new jacket for christmas. I have leather now and I am thinking about going with a functional jacket, but I don't want a mesh style. The canvas looks nice, but they are not waterproof. Just seeing what you guys have thoughts on

I have a canvas HD reflective jacket that is very water proof. 2 winters and still dry.
I have many jackets; Leather (Fox Creek is tops here in my experience), Mesh, etc. but for going X-Country I take a First Gear Kilimanjaro . . . Dry when it's raining, Warm when it's cold, More than enough vents to be no warmer than the air temperature when it's hot, Good protection from Road Rash (don't ask), Stores easily on the bike . . .
If you are looking for a H-D branded jacket, the "Authority" is pretty good. While it does have H-D logos, they are rather understated by factory standards. The jacket has good venting, is made from 1200 denier fabric (which is considerably heavier than most), is waterproof, has buffalo leather trim. and comes with removable armor.
I purchased one when they first came out and it has served me quite well in the mud and rain.
Harley leather jackets are made in Indonesia. As matter of fact, most of their clothes is made in a foreign country. Hence.....I won't buy from them. JMO

That authority is very nice. I don't really like that armour on the elbows, but suppossedly that comes off. Thanks for your replys guys
The armor at the elbows is removable. It is on the inside and is not visible, but does add a little bit of bulk. What is visible on the outside of the sleeves, covering the elbow area, is a leather "patch", and is not removable.
In person, the jacket actualy looks pretty nice.
