Default V&H Big Shots Staggered vs Big Radius

I am planning to buy a Fat Boy Lo in the next few months and want to put on some V&H pipes. I'm deciding between the black Big Shots Staggered and the Big Radius. I heard the Big Shots Staggered on a Fat Boy Lo today and they sounded great, and pretty loud. I'm wondering how the Big Radius pipes would sound in comparison. Will the shorter big radius pipes be even louder?

I've never cared for the look of the big radius. That and they seem to be almost a OEM part with so many running them, I'd go with the big shots out of the two choices.

I've got the BSS. They are pretty good. You can check out a whole bunch by going through the Fat Boy Lo owners thread. You can also get a whole bunch of ideas for spending all the rest of your money.

I had the BSS on my Fat Lo when I traded it off.
Good sounding pipes. The BR 2:2 will be louder (a little) and they sound pretty good too. I love the look of the Big Radius 2:2 on most bikes but on the Fat Boy Lo not so much. Neither would be considered a real performance part, but would be better than stock.

Pic of mine the day I traded it.

I see more big shots and short shots around here than I do the Big Radius...

So this winter I'll be going the BR route myself...

As for sound/performance between the two? I really don't know which is better...

Good luck though

If you go the BR route, get yourself a pair of Big City Thunder baffles;makes the pipes sound so much better.

BSS for the win ... but get the black heat shields.

Then, if you don't want them, I'll trade you for my chrome ones.

I have the BSS on my Heritage. Nice looking pipes but I thought the stock baffles were a little harsh. Not too loud, they just seem to have harsh "blat" sound I thought. I put the V&H quiet baffles in with the Smart Partz Hard Kore baffles behind them. The Quiet baffles really don't do much but lower the tone while the hard kores get the sound under control. Again, this is my opinion. I get better torque as well.

Personally, I think the BR 2:2 pipes look awesome. If I didn't buy the bike with the BSS, I would have bought the BRs.
