Revving, kickstands, magnets, none of that crap works. Strap a Ford pickup to the bottom of the bike. That way the Ford will be good for something. If it still doesn't work, try a 1911.
I ride a 16 pound carbon bicycle with aluminum rims. It trips these sensors. So your theory of racing your engines is not true. There are just a few tiny metal parts on my bicycle and they are enough to trip the sensors. A small magnet under a big piece of metal does not work either. They are not magnetic sensors. You are just interrupting a electromagnetic Field. They are not pressure regulated. I think the deer whistle people sell the magnets.
This is hilarious. My motorless carbon fiber bike trips it so no way your engine revving could. Really?
I have a light on the only western exit of my housing division that is a PIA. I try to approach them in a tire track and stop right before the crosswalk lines. Light cycled right through me so I rolled past the crosswalk paint getting ready to run it and damned it if didn't cycle for me. I'm thinking I'm not going far enough.
I wrote my local state senator and he's looking into sponsoring a bill that will allow bikers to run the light if it doesn't change.
I googled and found this on some site from the Virginia D.O.T. The whole page is here if you want a mind-numbing amount of reading on this particular subject: http://vtrc.virginiadot.org/rsb/RSB25.pdf
Appendix E: Actions Motorcycle Riders Sometimes Take to Trip Sensors
Note: Some of these activities might be illegal, ineffective or may threaten the safety of the rider or other vehicles. Still, these practices have been reported on Web sites, online discussion forums and popular sources. In some cases authors note that these techniques are taught by motorcycle instructors.

Not what I ment to say.
On a properly installed and adjusted system the little metal in a bicycle is enough to trip the signal. So your bike would trip it too. Without the engine running just the metal mass will trip a signal. That is what they are supposed to do. These sensors are just metal dectors. But a lot of them just don't work properly.

That's why I never try anything to trigger one if it doesn't change.
It is legal in NC to run the light if the sensors don't pick up your ride.

Illinois just passed a law making it legal to run a non-responsive red light after 120 seconds and existing safe conditions. Now I'm really bummed. I'm no longer a lawless 1%er, living on the edge. I'm thinking of taking up littering to compensate for it.
