The twin cams don’t need the warm up like the older motors because of the o-ring at the base of the cylinders. This is where the problem is with dissimilar metals being cold.
And this is where you usually get a oil leak because you failed to warm the motor up.
And why you warm the bike up.
Start it up put it in gear, let it idle as I run down the drive and dirt road. Get on it in about two miles if it is real cold out.
If you ride a evo, you need to be much more careful. If you ever have them rebuilt then have the cylinders cut for a o-ring. Most reputable machinists know to do this.
