It really depends on how long the wife's Minute is..

As in I'll be there in a minute, go ahead and start her up..

I thought you were going to ask how long until we hop on our bike and ride off and never come back. Just thinkin?

From all the posts I think maybe I need to let mine idle a bit longer before riding off and continue with my very light throttle the first 2-3 miles as I have been.

I usually wait for the rocker cover to start heating up, it takes 2-3 minutes. And then i take it slowly the first few miles and then crank it.

I live on a hill -I start it when rolling down the hill and coast for about a minute before i have to put in gear. Neighbor has newborn and I leave early sometimes, they are cool so I
give em a break.

I always let mine warm up for 2-3 minutes before I take off. Then I go a little easy for the first mile or two. In the dead of winter, this time is extended a little.

I leave my bike out for most of the year and get ready inside.

This morning it was 35* out. . .I had all my gloves and stuff on when I reached the bike. Opened the fuel gate, yanked out the choke, fired the bike up. Duck walked it back about 20 feet, dropped her in gear and went. Drove for about a mile at around 40 - 50, hopped into the gas station, filled up, went in to half choke, and hopped on the highway. After about a mile, push the choke all the way in and it was smooth.

I just go with what they mechanics at the shop do. . .if you blip the gas and it chokes, give it choke. If you can blip the throttle and the engine blips with it, then you're golden.

I start it before I put my gloves, goggles and helmet on; and take it easy heading out of the neighborhood. That's usually sufficient...

It is getting cold here in the morning when I leave- usually in the 30's or 40's. I start it up in the garage while I get my gloves on and do a quick walk around. Mount up, duck walk it out of the garage. Take it easy, road is school zone so 25 for about a 1/2 mile, then 35 to next road which is 45. 2 miles to the highway and ride normally.

I would run out of gas! Our wifes must be sisters. A minute can be awfully long.
