No problem. Just need to redefine "what you need".
I hear you. Congrats. One of my main reasons for moving "up" was because I was tired of backpacks / throw overs just to carry what I needed for work and the proper gear for weather changes.
Hopefully I can add a stripped down mid 90s Dyna or Softail to the garage in the next few years.
It would be awful tough, if not impossible, for me to get rid of the Ultra in favor of a soft tail. Now, ADDING a soft tail would be a different story!! Sounds like you are happy, and that is all that matters! Enjoy your new ride and ride safely!
I did the same thing. I Sold My E-Glide and bought a Softail. I hated the bagger, although tons of storage space and convienent, it was like riding a couch with casters under it.
I recently sold my '08 Ultra Classic and moved to a BMW K1200LT. I was hoping Harley would offer a water cooled bagger in 2013, but it didn't happen. I plan to get another Harley in the spring, perhaps a used Night Train or Softail Custom.
Sold the Ultra Classic Electra Glide today. Now comes the anticipation of the new bike - 2013 Fatboy Lo in Black Denim with V&H 2 black Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes, heavy breather air intake, removable windscreen, and sissy bar with backrest. Might get some removable bags too. Plan to pick it up in the spring. Can't wait.
Congrats and great choice. If you haven't done so already go visit the Calling all FatBoy Lo owners thread in the softail section. Great stuff there.
