Default Clutch Cable Lube

Dealer says to use their harley lube, but said you can use "tuff oil" instead. I know on other threads people have suggested dri-slide and inox. I am unable to find any of the three mentioned at any local auto parts store in my area.
Auto store has White lithium powder, liquid wrench cable lubrication and stuff like that. Are these ok to use or do I have to order online. I like being able to get stuff local if at all possible. This is for a 2010 street glide. Thanks for any feedback.

Cable Life cable lube from Protectall (www.protectall.com) is the best I've ever used. Been using that stuff for 40+ years - nothing else is better. Any good dirt-bike shop should have it.
You can also get the lube attachment from the website but it won't work on your clutch cable.
For that: Slide a piece of clear hose over that big fat eyelet and use a hose clamp to seal it too the cable housing. Pour a little of the oil you're using in your trans into the clear hose and push it down the cable with an air gun set at about 10 psi.

I've got Dri-Slide. Got it at local Harley Dealer. I've heard many recommend it.

I used the liquid wrench cable lube and it seems to work well. According to the can you spray it in there then let it dry and your good. I sprayed it into the cable housing(as best as you can with everything attached). Worked the clutch lever, sprayed more, worked the lever you get the idea. It seemed to work good. Went in the house had soda watched some t.v. Came out hours later and it was even easier to work the lever. I like it and am kinda looking forward to doing the throttle cables

The last I read newer cables don't require lube and if you do lube them they get gunked up and grabby. I have an aftermarket cable that does't require lube. What does your service manual say?

Do they really require no lube? Ever? Or does that just mean they are pre-lubed so don't lube b4 installation?

I'm not sure on newer cables but I know my 94 glide liked it. It's a steel cable in a steel housing I would think your gonna need something sooner or later.

I recently bought the "Harley Lube". $5.95 at the dealer. Small syringe full of lube with a needle at the end to apply in tight spaces. Can't buy a Chipotle burrito for that price, so I had no second thoughts about it.

The lower half of the cable is already lubed with oil from the tranny. When I do a 5,000 mile service, I lube the upper end of the cable with the same oil I use for the tranny. I may be overly cautious, but that way I know there's no compatability problems with dissimilar lubricants reacting down inside the cable.

Worked for me for 24 years.
