I put $20,000 in motor work and accessories on my ride. That's why it's called the "ultraultra". My wife made me get a custom plate forit... "MY$$PIT". I still have 20-22 items on my list. Then, last September, we got her a new Deluxe. Got $6,000 in extras on hers, and no pipes yet!
There are many things HD stands for, you will hear Hundred Dollar, and I just thought of another one... Harley Debt. But, just think about your MPG... Miles Per Grin!!
Well, the riding gear is money well spent. As far as the scooter....you can stop at any point. I've found that my taste for chrome disappeared when I bought my Superglide....everybody is all chromed out now! Dare to be different/do your own thing....What's wrong with lot's of waxed and polished silver and black paint? I like a little chrome, but actually prefer black paint on the frame and tins, a silver motor, and just a little chrome, that's kind of where Susie is heading.......she is already 90% there....but will be getting my extra set of tins painted black with yellow to orange flames, and my chopper front end, which I might get powdercoated satin silver, just so I'm not like everybody else. The funny thing is, now everyody has a flat black dyna.....just get a mental picture of what you want, what you like and go that way. Resist the urge to splurge on chrome...unless you live for it, like 'ol Donny with his FXDI custom
Thanks to all the folks who replied to my comment. Anice bit of advice I read was "figure out what theme I wanted to go with, then start adding and changing" sounds good to me because I'm beginning to question chrome or flat black. I may wait a while.
As for the jacket than makes me look thinner, -- that may not be "a fact" sorry Jimbo21165, -- I guess I'm "not" really 10 years younger while riding my H/D either ?!?
If neither, thinner or younger --I know I'm happy.
Two years and $5000 of accessories later,.......I've slowed down alot. I've got it looking like I want,....and any more bling would be ,..."too much".......dont want to screw with the original look of the bike.
I think it slows down over time,.....the spending. You get all the good creature comforts you want on it,....then you start getting picky about just what to put on it next.
Man Please you never had a jacket for the other bikes or any jacks or tools. But answer me this how many miles have you put on her. I rode over 500 miles in a weekend to break my 07 bike in, kept it for about 7 weeks and traded it in on another one. Everything I did to it went with the bike. Now I started over again and got 4700 on my other new 07 bike. Did a stage 1 with D&D fat cats at 2500 miles. Now I'm waiting on the builder to call and tell me he's ready to do the 103 buildwith andrews cams and the Thundermax.
