When I had my 1999 Goldwing and belonged to a Wing chapter, all members had a cover for the windshield with the chapter logo and mascot. I still have, and plan to have my wife modify it to fit my 2006 Heritage Classic. These covers protect the windshield from sun damage while parked. I have not seen any Harley riders use them. Do they think they would look like a dumbass?

"Sun Damage"? While parked? And they say Harley newbies buy a lot of useless crap.
When you live out in the desert like I do, and it's 110 in the shade in the summer, leaving your Wing out for several hours in the sun could just about melt your bike and instrumental panel. When different chapters got together, each chapter had their own covers, and easily identified them. If you see some one hundred bikes with covers on, it is an awesome sight. Even in a studley Harley, the windshields are made of plastic, and subject to scrtaches and sun damage and over time begin to dull. 'Nough said on this, I am just mentioning a practice that appears to appeal to Wingers. I just though it was curious of the mental process that causes one group to embrace something, while another group rejects it.

I guess personalized Gold Wing windshield covers might make sense, since all Gold Wings pretty much look alike. In 30 years, I've never had trouble picking my bike out in a parking lot though.

I never seem to have too much trouble locating mine either. :-)
