I know JJ is a tool,,, but I love watching him build bikes, his creative process.but the second he talks about himself or any thing other than the builds Im done!! Ive always liked the west coast customs stuff, I do think jj is smarter than occ and jr by getting out of the chopper bizz before it fails. The fad is over. jj quit on his terms. occ will go into foreclosure, who cares what happens to jr and the guys there.
I always thought Russ Mitchell, Billy Lane and Indian Larry were THE best!
They are/were the best...Russ Mitchell (for his own work and his riding skills aka I once tried, operative word is 'tried' following him through the backroads from Glendale Harley to Lake Castaic for the LOVERIDE), Billy Lane (for his own work and the work he did to help others through Florida's prison system) and Indian Larry (for his attitude towards people and life and his believe that choppers should be designed to be ridden through the twisties)...I once talked to a nurse at a Salinas hospital that had transferred out from a Brooklyn hospital...She now rides an R-1 at Laguna Seca on track days on a regular basis but was riding a 1200 Sportster in New York...She said Larry would often ride with her group (sportbikes and sport touring) through the Hudson Valley and had nooooooo trouble keep up with them AND would stop to help anyone...metric or otherwise...RIP Larry...
Didn't get to see the show and finally had the time to look at the bikes on you tube so I don't know what thought process went in to building them. The only one I'd ride is the Gas Monkey bike. Just wish it was a different color.
