It started last wednesday. I got suited up, went out to the garage and opened the door, stepped outside, went back inside, got undone, backed the car out, pushed the bike back in and drove the car into work. I DON'T DO RAIN, especially if it can be avoided it in the beginning. Wednesday night when I came home I tucked the bike into the back of the garage so that I could have access with the car until the impending storm fronts moved thru. And there the bike sat, plugged in for a week, until this morning.
I don't remember the last time the bike sat for a week between uses. This morning was the first morning in a week where it wasn't raining. It was a bit on the cold side (28*) but hey, that is what heated gear is for, right? It felt good to be back in the saddle again.
Our last storm has left most of the side streets with 1-2" of packed snow and ice. No riding unless you have studded tires!
.
Glad I'm not in MN! You guys are getting your butts kicked!

I always start the day opening the front door and looking outside for myself to deciding whether to get dressed for the ride or not. Initial look - cloudy, no precip. Had it stayed that way for 10 more minutes I would have been caught in my last 10 minutes of the ride in rain. As it was, I was fortunate it started to rain when it did!
If I'd already gotten my boots on, it would take me ten minutes just to get undressed and dressed again and into the car. It'd have to be raining pretty hard at that point.
Have not ridden to work lately but been out riding . Still been ok in NJ . 40s no real snow yet. I stay away from the rain too especially when it might turn to ice. Rain today .
