A couple that I know - she was driving with the kids and he was in front on the Harley, and she turned for a second to deal with one of the kiddies and slammed into the back of her husband on the bike.
He came off, hit his head, was taken by the trauma hawk to the ER, unconscious. He spent several days in the hospital, fractured skull, hematomas, he's lucky to be alive, but he has behavioral changes, memory issues, headaches, confusion. He's had to quit work and so has she to look after him. I've known them several years and she was beside herself with guilt that she caused the accident. He will have another CT scan this week and will see a neurosurgeon after Christmas. They were in a bad accident a couple years ago on the freeway when a car side swiped them leaving them both with broken bones.
Prayers please for this nice couple that he recovers fully.

I was in his position once and it wasn't a lot of fun. Because she was also involved it was kind of a double whammy. I know from personal experience that the recovery stage he will go through is going to be very stressful for the both of them. I wish them both the very best.
4 years ago, my wife brake checked me in her car.. luckily a day in bed for the aches and pains to go away, and $600 in parts for the bike fixed it up.. worst part was a sheriff was behind me. gave me a ticket, too fast for conditions, 7-10mph .. hope the OP couple gets better.
