A few of my friends and I went on this ride last Saturday
"4th Annual Memorial Ride
On February 5^th of 2003, 12 year old Philip Devine was fatally injured
in a tragic accident while riding his bicycle. On February 3^rd there is
going to be a ride to honor his memory and raise money to purchase new
books for the E. O. Green Junior High School. Donations of any amount

There were around 100 bikes that showed up and at the end of the line there was a trash truck.
I don't know about you but I think that was a bad idea what do you think?

I didn't see anything wrong in your description, unless it was the trash truck. I think you are reading too much into it. Heck, if they went and supported the run, what does it matter what they rode in..... I thought you were going to say, someone was mounted on an Indian, Honda or something like that !!!!

It's a hard one. Part of me says it's messed up to bring the truck but i guess what would sway me either way would be who was at fault.If the driver was at fault to me he and the company should avoid the place like the plague but if it was determined that the driver/company wasn't at fault,you know they have to feelworst and need to be there more thanany of the other folks who supported the event and didn't know the child.
I don't think it's a big deal. Kind of neat that the company was showing its support for the event. Not sure I see the relevance of the funds gong to the school though; should have benefitted the family.
