Not really, muscle cars weren't worth much in the 80's (round here anyway). Tried to talk my dad into buying a big shed and buying them up. Could have had many Chevelle SS, GS stage 1, Cutlass 442, Mach 1, etc, etc for around $1500 each. All in great condition. I still give him **** about it.
Yeah, park them in a shed with no maintenance or care for 30 years. You wouldn't have made enough $$$ to pay for the shed, insurance and taxes.
A lot of those cars were worn out, rusted out or already junked by the 80s. Just parking them in a shed wouldn't improve them. Maintenance and upkeep isn't free.
Auction starts this Tuesday but, now that the "Speed Channel" no longer exists, a large part of the coverage will be on premium pay Channels. What the he11 is that? Fun to watch but, not going to go pay for the extra channels to see it. What a bummer.

Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2 and Fox Business News are premium pay channels?
I live 35 miles away from Westworld (the auction site), but I have yet to go in person. I'll just watch on TV as always.
A lot of people definitely have more money than brains. Like someone else said, some people just like to show how big their bank accounts are, and thats not necessarily a good thing. Even if I could afford it I wouldn't pay that much for an 11 year old bike. I know different people collect different things, but paying that much(or in other cases paying hundreds of thousands and millions) for something to let it sit is just stupid in my opinion.

Depends where you live. If you live in an area that gets snow and such you'd run the risk of massive rust damage. But if you lived in a dry climate like Nevada you'd have made a killing.
