Default Hauling tourer in small truck

Buying a Road King soon.Should I use a trailer or will a Glide type bike be ok in a small Nissan truck?Probably be traveling 50-100 miles. My chopper did ok,but it's a couple hundred lbs. less in weight.Just don't want to tear anything up (bike or truck).

The Nissan Frontier has a max load capability of 1464 pds. So technicaly it can handle a dresser. But as it has been mentioned if the rear tire is on the tailgate I'm not sure how long the straps would hold it up. Personally I would get a trailer, lower deck height also helps.

cheers

Only 50 to 100 miles? Don't you have a buddy that can drive you there and you could just ride the bike home?

I would be concerned about the cables that hold the tailgate when it's open failing going over a bump or something. I wouldn't trust the ones on my F-150 with my Heritage rear wheel sitting on it. I am sure they would be fine static, but a good jolt would concern me.

The Glide would haul the Nissan, but not vice-versa.
Get a real truck.

Excellent answer. Put the Tonka truck away, and buy a big boy truck

And either rent a trailer or have someone take you there. Who knows? they may buy a bike too, and you can put them both on the trailer.
