Saw a guy about 5:30 yesterday morning on his bike (this was in a pretty small town, out in the boonies). At my house there was 2" of snow, and still falling (and sticking). Where he was, it was raining, and the roads just wet. However, the temp was just on the edge of letting it snow. I thought that I certainly wouldn't be out there, but he may not have had far to go either (or he had studded tires).

But riding in conditions where you're putting your life at risk because of a much greater possibility of going down in conditions where you probably shouldn't be riding in is not a smart idea. I see people slide all over the road in slush like that in their cars. All he has to do is hit a puddle of slush or snow and he's going down.
