I like my HD dealership. They told me they are having a sale, and it would be 20% off all parts. When I got a post card about the sale they had a few items for sale but nothing about the 20% off all parts.
I thought they must have had a typo error, and accidentally left the 20% off parts, out. When I called to confirm the sale the receptionist told me it was a new MOCO rule they could only advertise specific items for sale, not everything on sale. I know they reward and punish dealers for which aftermarket parts they use too.
Companies like GM and RIM, used to think they we're so great, they didn't need to please the customer, only the bottom line. That can eventually cost you market share.
MOCO needs to learn that you need to be nice to people on the way up. You
meet the same people on the way down.
my dealer only advertises deals on clothes, helmets, accessories.. but if i walk up to the counter and need to order something, i just ask if they've got any parts deals going on, and if they do, they usually give me about 20% off.. and if they don't, well, i guess they like me because they still give me 10% off. So, just go up to the counter and ask i suppose.
I like Harley Davidson too, as i did my EX at one point.....
Kind of finding that FOMO is ruling with a iron fist, like some dictators from the past did. The harder they make it for dealers and customers, the sooner they'll be sucking their thumbs, wondering what happened to their once mighty motorcycle business.

Almost forgot about that.....My dealer had a sale coming up, last sommer. So, since i was at the dealer anyway, waiting for my bike, i looked at some items and made note of the prices. Then, when the sale was on, i returned to buy those things, and found that they raised the prices and the sale price was more then the original price. Told them what i thought about that underhanded crap and walked out buying nothing. Screw that.....
