I've been on the side of the road just using my cell phone, and the average seems to be about 60-40 in favor of those who stop and ask if I'm OK (yeah, I'm MARRIED so I do this alot).
I personally will always stop when I see a single biker, or a biker and his lady along side the road.
Two or more bikers though?.......fugedabowdit. If two or more of them can't figure it out, there ain't much I'm going to be able to add, and besides, it may just be a rouse to get some unsuspecting biker to become a victim of who knows what.
I feel a LITTLE guilty, but odds are one of them has a cell phone.

Yeah...two or more could be a smoke break, or could be some bad dudes...it's a crap shoot.

I did stop for some 1%ers under an overpass because it was clear one scoot had some bad juju goin' on (and the MC shall remain un mentioned). It was just a broken mufler bolt...I had some odds and ends in my bags...we made one to fit.

Travled with them almost all the way home (about 160 miles from the stop) and they had a cage followng them. I swear...they stopped at EVERY rest stop...to chow down on chips, salsa and Corona! Great trip!

I try to always stop when possible. About 20 years ago me and my buddy stoped to help this really tall bearded gentleman dressed in a long duster who was riding a really nice bagger. Turns out David Allen Coe had a loose battery ground.

YOU MEET THE NICEST PEOPLE ON A HARLEY!

If I see a bike parked along side of the road, I will stop. Even if they are just taking a breather, I will stop just to make sure everything is all right.

I stop most of the time, matter of fact I stopped a couple of nights ago to help a lady that was sitting on her bike with flashers on. Turns out she was just checking her bungee cords, cost me 30 seconds and I was rewarded with a grateful thanks.

I always atleast stop to ask if thing are OK.If someone slows down as I'm on the side of the road with no problem I wave them on with a thumbs up to let them know I'm OK.A buddy of mine was on his way home one day around 4:00 on his brand new Big Dog Chopper when his rear tire went flat.He tried to call home but his kid was on the enternet so he kept getting a busy sig.(damn dial up) but any way,He was only 1 mile from home so he walked home to get his truck and trailer (noone would even stop to offer help or a ride)I probably do'nt have to say what happend but when he got back 30 mins. later the Bike was gone even tho it was parked near a store. It's been 4 months and they have'nt found it yet and they never will.Long story short,I would never leave a person stranded on the road.Just like one of the quotes says on this forum (sorry I can't remember whos it is) but it's PAY IT FORWARD.it will come back to you someday when you need help.

PAY IT FORWARD.

Not only a good movie, but a great way of thinking, even if it is a little altruistic in our largely self centered society.

I do things for people all of the time and expect nothing but a thanks, I tell them to return the favor to others if the chance comes up.

Yes - even being female and riding alone - I still stop! I am not very mechanical but I can at least offer rides to petrol (gas) stations or just company while they wait for assistance.

It costs nothing and as other posts have said, it is something that gets passed on. Do unto others and all that...

A few months ago my bike stalled a couple miles from home.....couldn't get it to turn over, turns out I was too low on fuel. Anyway, a guy in a pickup saw I was having trouble and offered to tow me and the scooter home. We tried picking my bike up, but the sonfabitch is waaaay to heavy for two people. That's when another guy in a Miata saw us, pulled over and helped us load the scooter into the back of the pickup.

I haven't had the opportunity yet, but I plan on pulling over and helping out if I can.
