I'm switching from all motorcycle oils for awhile. Reason is big twin harleys don't need a oil designed to operate a clutch with the engine oil. Big twins don't share engine oil with the clutch. Motocycle oil takes away the friction enhances because it causes clutches to slip. In a big twin the friction modified oil may be a good thing and may slow down the top end noise. Seems motorcycle oil lunricates less effeciancy because it has to allow to the clutch to work. Not the case in a big twin harley

Winner winner. If Mobil can keep most major militarys around the world lubed then it's gota be good for my twin. Can't believe some of the **** oil some people put into something they claim to love and payed ALOT of money for. It's called the LIFEblood of your engine for a reason. You didn't cheap out on the bike so why cheap out on oil?
Made the switch from motorcycle oil to a high quality racing automotive oil. Today I used valvoline VR1 synthetic 20w-50 racing oil. High in zinc and prosperous plus has the friction modifiers that motorcycle oil does not have because of clutch operation. My valve train noise is GONE. Both Mobil 1 v twin and amsoil had a lot of top end noise...a constant clatter and ticking. After switching to the valvoline non motorcycle racing oil All the noises are gone. This can be nothing short of better librication due to the friction modifiers that v twin oil does not have because it must acomodate metric c twins that share engine oil with the clutch
